Sternglas was founded by Dustin Fontaine in Hamburg in 2016. Fontaine worked in a small watch manufactory in his student years and this experience sparked his passion for watchmaking. The brand focuses on minimalism and quality and aims to make good design accessible to everyone.
The ‘glas’ element of the brand’s name refers to the sapphire glass lens that is built into every watch that the brand creates. Fontaine chose this name for his brand to honour the strong history of German watchmaking. Despite being a relatively new name in the watch industry, Sternglas is a very well-respected brand that creates high-quality timepieces.
Core Features of the Sternglas Naos Collection: The watches in this collection each feature a domed sapphire crystal to protect the dial. This is coated in a double anti-reflective coating. All watches in this collection have a date aperture.
Each Naos watch has a quick-change strap system that allows the wearer to give their timepiece a new look whenever they please. Every watch in the Naos collection is also water resistant up to 50 metres or 5 bar. Model Specifications S02-NAY23-MO01: This watch features a bright yellow dial.
For improved legibility, the dial exhibits light hour and minute hands and a black-tipped light second hand. The dial is also adorned with both Arabic numeral indices and slim baton indices. Between the hour markers, there are also minute markers.
